Who We Are

AboutFace International was established in Toronto, Canada in 1985. Our vision is that individuals with facial differences find the confidence and courage to live their lives to the fullest.

Our mission is to facilitate emotional, peer and social support, resources, educational programs and public awareness for individuals with facial differences and their families.

Organizational Values
To help make the AboutFace vision a reality, we abide by three core principals: Empower, Encourage and Educate.

1. Empower
   By offering programs and services like youth camps, adult workshops and conferences, we help people with facial differences gain self-confidence, learn essential life skills, and experience personal enrichment.
2. Encourage
   We offer emotional and peer support and encouragement, through parent support groups, online and one-to-one peer networking opportunities, when people with facial differences and their families need it most.
3. Educate
   We believe the most effective way to promote public awareness and change negative behaviour is through school programs, literature and our website.
