The AboutFace Scholarship Program
AboutFace has established a national scholarship to recognize the personal and academic achievements of our members embarking on post-secondary education. This award will celebrate the accomplishments of AboutFace youth with facial differences and the significant contribution they are making to our organization.
The scholarship will be open to all AboutFace members within Canada, who are in their final year of high school or CEGEP and will be attending a post-secondary institution during the following year. One recipient will be selected annually who best exemplifies the qualities of personal achievement and community spirit. We will be recognizing a student who has demonstrated both a record of progressive academic success and involvement in AboutFace and their greater community.
Our first scholarship will be announced in August 2008, with the deadline for application being June 30, 2008. For the 2008/09 school year, a grant of $1,000 will be awarded.
This scholarship will be funded annually through The AboutFace Scholarship Fund. We have recently launched this endowed fund through the generosity of Genworth Financial Canada, Judy and Robert Lawrie, Scotiabank, The KPMG Foundation and The Young Family Foundation.
